Jennifer Griffin. Amazing Woman, Mother, Warrior, Survivor, Walking Inspiration, and FOX News Correspondent. I don’t think I have ever walked away from a job feeling so inspired. What a fine example of a human being she is.
She talks openly about being diagnosed with breast cancer just six months after giving birth to her third child. As the four of us sat, captivated by her story, I was literally moved to tears. Her aggressive war on the cancer and her will to survive for her children gave me a sense that I too could accomplish anything with enough strength, devotion, and mind control. She has not only beat the cancer, but come out of it a new & improved Woman. Stronger, more beautiful, and ready to seize every moment.
I can’t wait to see much more of Jennifer’s beautiful face on Fox News as she gets back to work!
Michaele Salahi, of The Housewives of DC, breaks her silence about her private battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Michaele was a joy to work with. Such a gentle, youthful, and fun spirit. I wish her all the best in her journey.
I am really excited about my recent work on the Mossimo Southeast Asia campaign for 2011. The photographer, Navo is in one word SUPERFRIGGINTALENTED. The images were shot on Long Beach in NYC at Allegria Hotel. The models for the juniors were Aubrey, Robby, and Roberto from Fusion Models NYC. Fashion stylists ChiChi & Ogo were on the scene with some amazing handmade pieces to layer in, as well as hair guru DemiV working her hair magic. In addition to the juniors, we shot the Mossimo Kids campaign, those images will also be launching soon. The shoot was laid back in the sun & sand, the team worked perfectly together, and I cannot wait to share all of the images with you! Here’s a sneak peek…
Greatness doesn’t just happen. It takes every ounce of energy that you thought you didn’t have and somehow found.
I am a big slacker! Here is a little sample of some new work out in Still Magazine. Lots of new & exciting projects on the horizon that I will share with you very soon! Smooches
It’s a really proud day for me. This editorial, “Cirque du Freak” was shot about a year ago with fashion photographer, Ella Manor Assistant, Adolphus Amissah and model, Shaun Ross. Clam magazine is based in Paris and I have waited oh so patiently for it to be published and distributed to the United States. The shoot was so much fun! The creative energy in the studio was palpable. The shoot was also made in to a short fashion documentary that you can find here. Enjoy!
Whether it’s glossed up, matted down, or just plain naked…your pout should be soft & healthy. This isn’t always an easy task considering what we put our lips through. I have many people ask how to keep their lips in shape and the answer is NOT in the little white pot with the yellow lid. Eh hem. Here is my recipe, and it’s one that will have you wanting to kiss your own lips, I promise!
This week’s cheap thrill is a staple in my kit & my personal makeup bag. I have never found a lipstick quite as versatile as Maybeline’s Superstay lip color in #709 “She’s born with it”. As a makeup artist working with at least a bride or two a week, I would say I use this lip color on at least 7 out of 10 of them. The color looks great on almost EVERYONE! It is the perfect fleshy pink. The long wearing ability is perfect for a day of smooches & champagne toasting. This is one of the few long wear formulas that I have found that does not dry the lips & end up cakey. The balm on the opposite end provides moisture & just the right amount of shine. I swear by this product!
I had the honor of working with the miraculous woman that is Elizabeth Edwards, as well as her daughter Cate today. When I got the call to be a part of the People Magazine cover story, I was immediately intrigued & excited. Not only did my mind start drawing blueprints of her face and planning my process, but I also couldn’t wait to meet the human being behind the face. This woman is such an example of strength, resilience, and grace. She is a survivor in every sense of the word. The loss of a child, cancer, infidelity, and all while under the media microscope. As a professional working with many celebrities & public figures, you can only hope that the perception you have doesn’t come crashing down when you actually meet them. I am so happy to say that I walked away from the experience with only a greater affection for her. What an amazing lady. Incredibly warm, down to earth, and down right funny. For the few hours I spent in Cate’s beautiful Georgetown home, I felt much like part of the family. I can’t wait to run out and get her book, appropriately titled “Resilience" and snuggle up with it. We can only learn and grow from overcoming our own adversity and being a witness to that of those around us.
Stay tuned, the interview is due to hit news stands on July 1st-2010.

Who else? Make Up For Ever. I don’t think these people have created anything that has not stirred up feelings of passion & love in me. My kit is loaded with their products, but I still manage to get inspired whenever I visit a MUFE counter and get to touch and feel the entire collection.
So yesterday, after a fantastic session with a client, I decided to take a little trip to Georgetown and browse around. First stop…Sephora! Naturally I headed straight for MUFE and here’s what caught my eye. Little jars of magic called “aqua cream”. Vibrant, highly pigmented, shimmery, waterproof, and only $22. The colors are all so delicious and the payoff is exact, what you see is what you get. I ran home and ordered my 4 favorite colors (#1,8,10, and 11) and I cannot wait to use them. They are incredible!
Sexy is a state of mind…
